Day 1; Copenhagen/Billund/Aalborg – Faroe Islands

When you arrive in the Faroe Islands, your rental car will be waiting for you at the airport.

  The first 2 nights you stay in Gjógv. While staying here you have 3 hikes.

When you arrive in beautiful Gjógv and are well settled, a very popular hike awaits – Ambadalur, which takes approx. 2 1/2 hours.

Difficulty: medium

You walk along the fantastic coastline, where you will have a beautiful view of the sea – a completely unique experience.
Here is rich bird life, where you can expect to see everything from puffins to guillemot.

Day 2; Kallur light house

Today you drive 45 minutes to Klaksvík, then take a boat – which takes 20 minutes – to Kalsoy.
On this island you have a wonderful hike to Kallur Light House.

Difficulty: medium

The hike begins in Trøllanes. It takes 1 hour each way, here you also have the opportunity to see James Bond’s tombstone.

While you are in Kalsoy, you drive to Mikladalur, where you can experience the popular and fantastic statue of “Kópakonan” (the seal woman).

Day 3; Slættaratindur

Today you will change hotels.

After checking out, you will hike up the Faroe Island’s highest mountain – 882 meters – this hike takes approx. 4 hours.

Difficulty: medium

Next we drive to Tórshavn. We recommend you take the route through Funningur. Here you can try to drive through all the zigzag turns.

Then we recommend you to drive towards Runavík and take the Eysturoyar tunnel to Tórshavn. This is the famous underwater tunnel, which is the first ever to have a roundabout at the bottom and with the sculptures made by the famous Faroese artist Tróndur Patursson, which are supposed to represent the Faroese chain dance.

You check in at lovely Hotel Djurhuus***, where you will stay for the next 3 nights.

Day 4; Calm day

The day is yours and you set the program and pace. Visit some of the small design shops, take a trip to Tinganes (the Parliament of the Faroe Islands) between the old houses Á Reyni or enjoy a good cup of coffee in one of the nearby cafés.

Day 5; Vestmanna Bird Cliffs

Today you drive to Vestmanna,

After a few good days of hiking, you are going to Vestmanna today.

Here you will experience a beautiful sailing trip along the bird cliffs and into the caves.

The boat slides into caves and the day disappears for a moment. Darkness and the sound of dripping water and the suddenly out again on the other side – an indescribable experience that must be tried.

The duration of the trip is approx. 2 hours.

Day 6; Sørvágsvatn, Trælanípa and Bøsdalafossur – Danmark

Before you head back home, there is one last hike, this wonderful and lovely hike right next to the airport.

Lake Sørvágsvatn is the largest lake in the Faroe Islandsa. Here you get a fantastic view that you won’t forget. In addition, you also have a view of the Bøsdalafossur waterfall, which flows from the lake into the sea.

The path also takes you to Trælanípa (Slave Mountain), which is a rock wall that rises 142 meters vertically from the sea.

The trip is 5 km to and from trip, and takes approx. 2 hours in total.
