Visited the Faroe Islands in the summer of 2022 for the first time, but only for 6 days.
It was an exciting and good trip.

Having always celebrated New Year in Denmark, we wanted to try something new, so in November 2022, we searched the internet about celebrating New Year in the Faroe Islands.

We found a New Year’s offer from Make Travel for a New Year’s stay in Tórshavn with New Year’s Eve celebrations at Hotel Hafnia in Tórshavn.

This offer was tempting, so we contacted Make Travel and informed them that we were interested, but that we would like a slightly longer stay, so we would arrive in the Faroe Islands on 29.12.2022 and travel back to Denmark on the same day. 3.1.2023. We would also have a car provided and we would have all our nights at Hotel Hafnia.

We got a great offer which we accepted and had a wonderful New Year’s holiday in the Faroe Islands.

Our New Year’s experience in 2022/2023 was so good that we wanted to repeat it in 2023/24, but this time we wanted to bring our 4 grandchildren who had never been to the Faroe Islands before. The grandchildren were invited and they all wanted to come, because a New Year’s stay in the Faroe Islands sounded good.

We contacted Make Travel and asked if they could arrange the trip for us. They did, and we got a very nice treatment and a good offer, again with New Year’s Eve celebrations at Hotel Hafnia.

Both the grandchildren and we had 6 wonderful days in the Faroe Islands from 29.12.2023 to 3.1.2024.

The grandchildren were excited about the Faroe Islands, because we got to show them quite a lot of the Faroe Islands during this New Year’s holiday.

Right now we want to go to the Faroe Islands again, but it will probably be a summer trip because there is still a lot we have yet to experience. The goal is a 10-12 day trip in July 2025, and we are confident that together with Make Travel we can arrange a good trip.

Thanks for a nice trip to the beautiful and harsh Faroe Islands in sun, rain and wind.
Everything went as planned, thanks to the hotel in Gjógv, which let us stay a few extra hours while the rain and storm subsided a bit.
We think that A-car has a too small engine for the steep climbs, it could only drive in 2nd gear up them.

We have now returned from a fantastic trip – have seen so much beautiful and magnificent nature.
Drove on nice roads, walked on beautiful hiking trails.
Met sweet and friendly Faroese.
We have also been lucky with the weather.

We first met Make Travel at Ferie for Alle in February 2019. Make Travel was a great appetizer to visit the Faroe Islands at some point.

We contacted Make Travel in February 2021 and had them put together a program where we visited and stayed on 4 different islands in the Faroe Islands in one week.

Everything was perfectly organized with good accommodation and a nice car with plenty of space for us and our friends.

In the period before we were to travel, the Corona rules were changed, and at one point it was uncertain whether it was possible to travel to the Faroe Islands without being quarantined for 4 days. Make Travel was extremely flexible with the remaining payment for the vacation.

We had a fantastic week of wonderful experiences and we would always give Make Travel our best recommendations.

Our trip to the Faroe Islands with Make Travel was very successful.
We found this combined car rental and accommodation with breakfast ideal. The company had organized the trip very well, so we reached most places and corners of the main islands and got to see a lot of beautiful places in your beautiful archipelago.
In terms of advice and guidance before the trip, we also got a very nice treatment.

Friendly competent guides and we got experiences for all the money. Everything on the trip was just delivered as agreed, on time and in surprisingly good quality.

We stayed in Sørvagur on July 11th, the first night of a wonderful and perfect vacation that we will never forget.
The most wonderful tours, Saksun, Gjogv, Fuglefjord and many other lovely places, and of course the fishing villages and then Torshavn, Tinganes and coffee at Jacobsen (more than once) – and we also reached Vestmanna bird tour.
– and then we were so lucky with the weather.

Came home yesterday Sunday from an absolutely fantastic trip to the Faroe Islands.
Everything worked out.
Super good car to drive around the corners with and a good apartment to snore in. We have been very very happy with our trip and thank you because the weather was with us.
Just one small thing that you have nothing to do with, it would have been nice with better signage in Tórshavn towards the airfield.

My wife and I took a trip to the Faroe Islands in June. After some searching online, we stopped at Make Travel. There was an offer that was both reasonably priced and as extensive as time allowed, namely one week.

We had both email and personal contact, which was pleasant, welcoming, informative and efficient in every way.

For us, the journey started in Gothenburg and went via Copenhagen to Vágar in the Faroe Islands. Here we were picked up by a taxi and taken to Tórshavn’s finest hotel “Hotel Føroyar”, from where all excursions started.

Being able to relax in these surroundings after a long day’s adventures added to the well-being of the trip.

For our part, we participated in 4 excursions that Make Travel had let “Tora Tourist Traffic” arrange.

In short, we saw the Faroe Islands from north to south and east to west in a minibus under expert guidance in the language understood by everyone that day. Nothing was left to chance, all participants were satisfied and the information about today’s Faroese society was perfect. Each day had its highlights, which I won’t list here. In addition, we had 2 days at our own disposal to visit the formidable art museum and the National Museum, as well as to get a feel for Tórshavn.

You could wish for more, but that will have to wait for another time. The days passed quickly and suddenly we were back at Vágar airport, and a few hours later we were home on Styrsø in Gothenburg’s southern archipelago, where we live.

In conclusion, as both of us are quite experienced travelers, we would say that Make Travel’s trip to the Faroe Islands is one of the best organized trips we have participated in.

In May 2017, we booked a 9-day package tour to the Faroe Islands through Make Travel and we had a great vacation on these beautiful and scenic islands. From the initial planning of the trip to the actual stay, we received a very fine and competent service from Maria and Kent.

We also had special requests for our stay which were fulfilled to our full satisfaction – highly recommended.

Having just returned to Denmark after some fantastic days in the Faroe Islands, where Aase and I, together with our 3 adult children and 2 children-in-law, were participants in the 6-day tour: “Faroe Islands first time” May 19-24, we must immediately give this trip our highest praise and recommendation. It was a huge experience on the selected islands and in all the settlements and spectacular places we visited. Wonderful nature. The tour’s local guide, Per Hansen, was top professional and very knowledgeable about all local conditions and a very friendly person to be with.
We therefore also send a kind greeting to Per with thanks for a good trip, which will stand as a tip top good experience that we will think back on with great pleasure.

Thank you very much for a well organized trip. Everything worked perfectly with flights, transfers, hotels and excursions, and it was a great experience for us to visit the Faroe Islands for the first time. We will definitely come back a second time.

Once back home, we thank you for your efforts to give us a great stay in the Faroe Islands! It was a great experience for us and it gave us an impression of the islands that you can’t read about! I had thought it would be more touristy, but it was just nice to walk around a real town, and with the price of stamps you don’t buy that many postcards anyway. Both hotels were good. It was nice to stay in the city center, and we were a little apprehensive about staying above the city, but it actually worked out well – and exercise is not to be sneezed at!

It was a total experience with the weather and its vagaries, not least the stay at Mykines, which was different than expected. It was good that you provided a replacement for Nordlýsið, so we did not go home with a feeling of having missed something. The small bus from Tora Tourist was good. It was an appropriate size for a group and they were good at making stops where you could take photos!

Everything went well, the hotel was perfect and Tora + Northern Lights were wonderful.

The taxi pickup was also perfect, with a nice driver.

The hotel is so new and a few hooks and railings were missing – but comfort and location were perfect!

A small evaluation of our trip to the Faroe Islands – for the first time.
We had been looking forward to the trip and had also prepared ourselves somewhat. The announcement that only 4 of us had signed up made one of us say that this meant that the trip would only get better. The other could also see the advantage, but was more nervous: we might have been taken by surprise.
Fortunately, we weren’t. Not at all. The tour was overwhelming. We really feel that we got to see a lot and we still feel the suction in our stomachs over the magnificent views when driving on the mountainside. And we got that feeling many times. And the craving when we saw the view from the farmer in Bøur’s living room. We wouldn’t have enjoyed it if we had come in a busload! The boat trip to Bøssdalafossur was unforgettable, we had no expectations (“it was probably just for a change and to fill the time”), but what a skipper and what a boat trip – which he could tell and take us out on the rocks!
We drove a lot, yes, but we also saw a lot, and nothing was unimportant or irrelevant. And then we could just ask questions to Dagfinn, he answered readily. A super driver and tour. The collected brochures etc. have been gathered to be handed over to some family who love vacations with nature experiences. And it is certainly not out of the question that we ourselves will head for the Faroe Islands again
As I said: an unforgettable trip, wonderful nature experiences and not least lovely people who we feel were sincere and honest when we asked about Faroese everyday life and issues in society. We have nothing to say about the trip. Everything lived up to our expectations. Good experiences, nice and open people, the best service, good hotels and good food, yes, even the weather was fine.

Everything was in order
Had some super good days in the Faroe Islands at Easter. Everything worked out and the hotel was lovely. The rental car that was in the airport parking lot took a little time to find – but it was manageable. All in all, the best recommendations of Make Travel from here.

Make Travel makes it easy to the Faroe Islands
We visited the Faroe Islands for the first time in March 2015, and had a look at the online options for booking flights, hotels and cars for a short vacation. In our search, we found Make Travel and asked for a complete offer based on our wishes, and we have not regretted it. We asked for a quote via. email, and everything went very quickly. Flights, hotel and car were quickly arranged and everything was as desired upon arrival, and the car, for example, was brand new and thus beyond expectations. Various documents also came automatically. The price for the entire package could not have been cheaper and the dialog was both trusting and attentive.
